HCEC Horse of the Month: Leo

Meet Leo, a 12 year old Clydesdale-Thoroughbred cross owned by Terry and Carol Rennecker. He has only been with Terry and Carol since November 2005, but he has found a permanent home and status as Barn Mascot.

Leo is full of personality and loves meeting everyone who comes to the barn...Especially if they happen to be carrying a carrot or two!

Leo is a big boy and lots of fun to ride, but he can be a challenge. His favorite "trick" is to fall in at the trot, so you have to catch him before he gets the chance. We think that maybe he is just trying to tell us "The shortest distance between two points is a straight line...so why do we keep going all the way around the arena?"

Nicknames:	Superstar Leo, Pickpocket, Sweet Load of Mine (he can be a little stubborn... some might say lazy...but Mom wouldn't!)
Favorite treats:	Leo loves them all, but carrots, apples and STUD MUFFINS top the list.
Fun Facts:	Terry and Carol still argue about just whose horse Leo is. Jamie plays referee. Leo gets so excited about turnout that he will "help" you put his halter on.
